Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Characters I’d Never Want to Meet
It’s that time again. The Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. Today’s topic is: Characters I’d Never Want to Meet
I don’t know that I really ever thought about this much. I definitely think about the ones I would like to meet, but not so much the opposite. Honestly, though, once I started thinking about it I got a bit overwhelmed by my plethora of choices. Narrowing it down to just a few so I didn’t take all day long with the post was hard! But … here’s who I chose:
1. Hannibal Lecter — so, I actually read these books before I saw the movies (“Red Dragon”, “Silence of the Lambs” and “Hannibal”) but after watching Anthony Hopkins I can’t picture anyone else in the role. He was absolutely perfect, terrifying, brilliant, psycho… He’s definitely top of my list of folks I wouldn’t want to meet.
2. The Uruk-hai — these creatures horrified me more than nearly any others in Lord of the Rings. The movies did a fantastic job creating their look and they were just as awful as I imagined they would be. I would absolutely not want to meet any of these bad dudes in a dark alley…
3. Randall Flagg (from Stephen King’s “The Stand”) — some of the creepiest people in the world are the ones who appear decent looking, who smile and offer you a hand up, who say all the right things … and then, when you least expect it, they’re the spawn of Satan. That’s Randall Flagg. Essentially the anti-Christ of the book. Handsome, charismatic, and appears to be a pretty decent dude, until he isn’t. He’d dig your liver out with a spoon and eat it raw, all the while smiling at you and telling you how nice you looked.
There are SO many more, but those are the first ones that popped into my head. What about you? Who are some characters YOU would never want to meet (in a dark alley, or anywhere else)?
Hannibal is one of mine, too! Creepfactor to the max. No thanks..
I agree with you… I went a little less creepy on mine: http://jhthomas.blogspot.com/2019/04/wednesday-weekly-blogging-challenge_10.html
Randall Flagg is an excellent choice! He was so creepy.
My post.
Well I listed Hannibel too. I suppose for a movie I never wanted to see he made a pretty good impression on society huh?
Here’s mine: http://www.ourtownbookreviews.com/2019/04/characters-i-never-want-to-meet.html
The vampires from Salem’s Lot. Shudder. Plus the regular scary movie baddies. Kinda have to add the guy from the book Room. The captor guy. Ew.
The Uruk-hai were well designed. Good choice.
Ohhh, creepy books all. Silence of the Lamb was a movie that haunted me for a long time. Great choices Marianne!
Ha! Hannibal looks like he was the first to come to mind for several of us!
Hannibal for sure. Cultured yet cannibalistic – a terrifying combination.
I used to really enjoy Sheldon in the early seasons because you figure there will be some character growth if he s that awful, right? But it took sooooo many seasons for him to have ANY kind of growth that it got to a point where you wanted to slug him every time he opened his mouth.
