Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: What Would I do With a Million Dollars

It’s that time again.  The Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews.  Today’s topic is: What Would I do With a Million Dollars
Honestly, today a million dollars doesn’t go that far anymore.  Also, I’m a pretty practical person so I’d do things like pay off my house.  I’d put a few hundred grand in the bank for retirement.  Sure, I’d be a little impractical … I’d get laser treatment on my spider veins or buy a few new outfits.  But I’m really pretty boring, so mostly I’d get us out of debt and save money.
Now …. if I suddenly got a billion dollars? Yeah, that’s a different animal altogether.  *VBG*
How would you spend a million dollars?

  1. You know, you’re right. A million bucks doesn’t go as long as it used to – not that I’d know about that! Hee hee. And then, assuming you had to pay tax on it, well, let the whittling down begin. Still, it might be nice to not have to worry about debt for a while, wouldn’t it!

    1. It’s kind of sad that a million just isn’t much anymore! But, yeah, I could sure live happily without a mortgage!

  2. You are right it doesn’t go very far today so…while I think we need to be practical (bah humbug) we also have to have a little fun with it. Good choices.

  3. It might not go far, but it would still be nice to have. Yanno? Lol. But I get it. Sometimes you don’t want to be frivolous. I’d give a chunk to the APL. Critters always need help.

  4. I’d do pretty much the same. Pay off the house, maybe glass in both porches. Pay off all the bills. Buy more books.
Now, with a billion, I’d buy the historic Virginia horse farm I’ve wanted for years. Buy a bunch of cool classic cars. And books. 😀

    1. Yeah … a billion and I could REALLY dream. I like the idea of that horse farm — let’s be neighbors!
