It's time again for the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews.…
Monday Musings
I spent a lot of time with relatively unhappy people this weekend. Thing is, I really think attitude is a choice. What was going on with them was sucky, true, but even so, it wasn’t the end of the world. No one was terminally ill, no one died, they all have jobs, homes, clothes, food, family and friends. Life could be so much worse.
I realize this has much to do with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs … in case you don’t know what that is, here’s a graphic to help you:
In other words, as each of our most important needs are met, other less important needs become very important. But even so, I wish folks would get up in the morning and decide to be happy or positive or upbeat. I don’t make it every day, but I try and for the most part, I’m a pretty happy human.
If nothing else, remember this:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~Herm Albright, quoted in Reader’s Digest, June 1995
That’s why I like to start my morning with a happy greeting.
Dru Ann, I love your daily “good mornings”… it’s a great way to start the day. 🙂
This was a good post. There are things in everyone’s life that can’t be changed, but your attitude towards those challenges can make all the difference in the world.
On a silly note, have you ever seen the joke version of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs that adds a puts Wifi below physiological needs as the #1 need for everyone’s life? It makes me giggle every time I see it.
Re: Maslows with WiFi .. yes! LOL…
